I had Lasik eye surgery done here and everything from beginning to end was better than I expected. I had qualified for the $250 a eye special due to the fact that my prescription was very low in each eye and under a 1. My vision was good before I had considered Lasik but I know it could have been a bit better and I also had a slight astigmatism. The thing I noticed myself is that when I would look up into trees, the branches were a bit blurry and not so detailed but after the surgery you can see the same small branches very clearly. Before the surgery: I had a eye exam in the Gurnee location and a lot of different tests were performed. It took a little over a hour for everything and I received 3 different price options for Lasik. A few days later I had called back to set up a appointment to have the $250 a eye special that I did qualify for. The staff here was very helpful with any questions and very professional. Day of the surgery: I has two places to have the Surgery and the Schaumburg location was closer to me. I was in and out in a little over a hour. First I had to go over paper work, then I meet with the surgeons assistant and we went over a few things such as the eye drops and what to expect shortly after the Lasik is done. After that I meet with David Aymond who is the eye surgeon. He has performed over 62,000 vision corrections over 18 years and has received a lot of awards. The operation was very easy and I did not feel any pain at all. You lay down flat on a table that moves between two of the machines. You do one eye at a time and first machine performs the laser cut and the second machine uses the laser that performs the vision correction. Overall the first machine I would say took about 25 seconds per eye and on the second machine took 5 seconds per eye. During the procedure I did not feel any pain at all or any discomfort. By the time it was done I even had to ask "that's it?". The correction surgery overall lasted about 8 mins including a quick eye check afterwards and it could not have been any easier. Afterwards, I had to try to keep my eyes closed and I had to wear sunglasses that they provide for you. They recommend that you try and get some sleep and rest you eyes for about 4 to 6 hours following the surgery. I noticed could see things more clearly even a few mins right after the Lasik but I did want to rest my eyes and try to keep them closed. 1st day follow up after the surgery: I had my follow up visit the next day and I drove myself here. My eyes were not dry or itchy afterwards but I have been taking about 5 different eye drops that were prescribed before the surgery. I take 4 of those drops 4 times a day and 1 of them I take 2 times a day. I had meet with a different person and he just checked a few things. I read the first vision line for 20/20 vision and I got it right on in both eyes. Also he told me that everything was looking great with my eyes and just not to use a hot tub, sauna, go swimming, ect... for 7 days. Also you can not itch or touch your eyes. That visit lasted about 5 mins and was very quick. Overall I am glad I got the Lasik vision correction done and I could not be happier. My total was about $550 with everything for both eyes and I also had spent a little more on the eye drop prescriptions at the pharmacy. I am writing this review on my 3rd day from having it done and It is very nice to see those small branches it the tree that was more blurry before and even smaller letters and pictures from farther away. The only downside is that your eyes may have red spots but those heal in a few weeks and you may also have dry or itchy eyes. I did have red spots in the white part of my eye but I have not have dry or itchy eyes nor has it affected my vision. I would highly recommend for you or anyone else looking to have Lasik done to schedule a consultation. I am very happy with my results and they were much better than I had expected.
